6ix Mears Catering Policy
Updated August 1, 2026
Booking & Deposit
A 50% deposit is required to confirm all catering orders and event reservations. Your order or event date is not confirmed until the deposit has been received and 6ix Mears has approved your order.
Final Payment
The remaining balance is due 7 days before your scheduled event. Orders placed fewer than 7 days in advance must be paid in full when confirmed. Catering services will not be provided until all required payments have been received.
Final Guest Count & Menu
Final guest counts, quantities and menu selections are due 7 days before the event. Once finalized, the confirmed quantity becomes the minimum amount billed. Reductions after the deadline will not reduce the final balance. Reasonable increases may be accommodated based on product and staffing availability. This structure is consistent with current catering-industry guarantee practices.
Changes & Substitutions
Changes to menu selections, quantities, event times or service requirements must be approved by 6ix Mears. Last-minute additions and substitutions are subject to availability and may result in additional charges.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellations made 14 or more days before the event may receive a refund of payments made, less the 50% deposit. The deposit is non-refundable because food preparation, staffing and event capacity are committed in advance.
Cancellations made 7–13 days before the event are responsible for 75% of the confirmed order total. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are responsible for 100% of the confirmed order total.
One rescheduling request may be considered based on availability. Payments may be transferred to the rescheduled date at the discretion of 6ix Mears.
Service Charges, Taxes & Gratuity
Applicable taxes and any mandatory service charges will be disclosed as part of the total event price before the customer completes the catering agreement. A service charge is not a gratuity unless expressly identified as one. Minnesota requires clear disclosure when an obligatory charge is not a gratuity, and mandatory service charges are generally taxable.
Alcohol & Drink Tickets
Alcohol purchased through 6ix Mears may only be served to guests 21 years of age or older with valid identification. Drink tickets are valid only for the beverage categories identified in the customer's confirmed package. Premium beverages, additional drinks and products outside the selected package will be charged separately. 6ix Mears reserves the right to refuse alcohol service when required by law or responsible alcohol-service practices.
Outside Food & Beverages
Outside food, beverages, desserts or alcohol may not be brought into 6ix Mears unless specifically approved in writing as part of the event agreement.
Food Safety & Leftovers
Food will be prepared and handled according to applicable food-safety requirements. For food-safety reasons, 6ix Mears may determine whether catered food can be packaged for removal after an event. Once approved food leaves the premises, 6ix Mears cannot control its handling, storage or temperature.
Damage & Conduct
The customer is responsible for the conduct of their guests and for damage caused to 6ix Mears property by members of their party beyond ordinary wear and tear. All guests must comply with venue policies and staff instructions.
Acceptance of Terms
Payment of the catering deposit and/or execution of the catering agreement constitutes acceptance of the confirmed menu, pricing, guest count requirements, payment schedule, cancellation terms and applicable 6ix Mears policies.
